📝 Technical Notice: iOS 26.3 / 26.4 Display Validation Update on iPhone 17 Series
Dear Partners and Clients,
As your reliable display supply chain partner, we want to inform you about a critical technical change from Apple regarding aftermarket screen replacements. This issue specifically affects the iPhone 17 series.
Following the release of iOS 26.3 and iOS 26.4, Apple has tightened its underlying hardware verification mechanism. This has significantly impacted the compatibility of aftermarket, refurbished, or non-original screens.
Please read the details below to protect your business and prevent unnecessary after-sales issues.

🔍 Key Summary of the Image Notification (Text Analysis)
According to recent technical warnings from the repair sector, the details are summarized as follows:
  • Affected Software: Apple iOS 26.3 and iOS 26.4.
  • The Issue: Devices repaired with third-party, aftermarket, non-original, or refurbished screens will experience severe system malfunctions after upgrading. These include system crashes (boot loops), touch screen failure, and unexpected black screen reboots.
  • The Root Cause: This is an intentional underlying system restriction by Apple. The new system updates feature an enhanced hardware validation mechanism. Flushing the firmware or attempting software debugging cannot bypass this restriction.

⚠️ Essential Recommendations for Our Overseas Clients
To minimize return rates and handle your inventory safely, please immediately notify your local repair shop clients and distribution networks of the following guidelines:
  1. Disable Automatic Updates:
For any repaired iPhone 17 models using aftermarket screens, advise users NOT to upgrade to iOS 26.3 / 26.4. Turn off the "Automatic Updates" feature in the iOS settings right away.
  2. Handling Crashing Devices:
If a customer’s phone has already upgraded and is stuck in a boot loop or experiencing touch failure, the device can currently only be restored to normal operation by swapping back to an OEM original screen.
  3. Strict B2B QC and Communication:
When selling screen assemblies for the iPhone 17 series, clearly state this system compatibility risk to your buyers. This step will help protect you from wrongful after-sales warranty claims.

If you have any questions regarding your current pending orders, please feel free to reach out to your designated account manager.
Best regards,
